Elderly Programme

The older members of our community are important to us and play a vital role in our community and in the UK.

The Galton Village Project offers a programme designed to assist the elderly and help to ensure that lives can be lived as independantly as possible.

Our main programme of support at present consists of general assistance within the home, this includes light cleaning, shopping trips either with the user or by a member of our team, assistance with paying bills, collecting pensions, laundry, gardening and most basic home DIY.

Our workers also provide a listening ear - we don't just rush in and rush out - we provide a personal, caring and professional voluntary service.

In the early part of 2010 we plan to re-establish our weekly Luncheon Club, previously attended by no less than 20 elderly users each week. We are currently applying to funding in order to bring our kitchen facility up to standards and ensure we are fully equipped to provide a quality service.
